What to Do in a Plumbing Emergency

While you wait for us to arrive, these steps can help limit the damage:

  1. Turn off the water at the stop tap. It is usually under the kitchen sink, in a downstairs toilet or where the water pipe comes into the house.
  2. Switch off the electrics at the fuse box if water is near sockets, lights or appliances.
  3. Turn off the boiler or water heater and any immersion heater.
  4. Open the cold taps to drain the water out of the pipes.
  5. Move valuables away from the water and put down towels or buckets.

We deal with all kinds of plumbing emergencies:

  • Burst and frozen pipes
  • Leaks through ceilings and walls
  • Overflowing and blocked toilets
  • Blocked sinks and drains
  • Stop taps that won’t turn off
  • No water or low water pressure
  • Overflowing water tanks and cisterns
  • Leaking or dripping unvented hot water cylinders and tundishes
